Powder Room Makeover
When we moved into our current home, a little over two years ago, it felt nothing like me. I have since completed several projects that are making it feel more and more like my home everyday. The powder room was one of the first things that I changed. I decided to recycle the vanity and see if I could transform it into something that more reflected my style.
This is the before. Sorry for the quality of picture and for the toilet paper. When I took the photo I had no idea I was going to record all of it on a blog one day.
First we striped the vanity of it's pulls, buttons and bun feet. The we added the chinoiserie detail to the base.
Next we painted it a medium grey and added the honed white marble top. I was able to score the marble on the cheap because a local fabricator had this remnant available. I added a mirror and sconces that I had moved from my previous house and changed the sink to a white porcelain bowl because I liked how it blended with the marble.
Finally, we finished it out with new hardware and a tone on tone peacock feather wallpaper.
In the end a dramatic change was achieved.
